UPS system overload delays Christmas Eve deliveries
Tue Dec 24, 2013
Yes, the two presents we didn't receive on time were shipped via UPS. No surprise -- that's why our office switched to FedEx years ago. Over and over we paid for deliveries guaranteed on a specific date, then when UPS let us down, they would refuse to refund their fees. I wish retailers would give u …
China smog emergency shuts city of 11 million people
Mon Oct 21, 2013
This is what our cities and countryside would look like after a takeover by the GOP/TP. No regulations = no breathable air+ no drinkable water.
Colorado cantaloupe farmers to plead guilty in deadly listeria outbreak

And yet, the Tea Party whack-jobs would have us dismantle the USDA and other regulatory bodies.
Kochs to Congress: Focus on spending, not Obamacare
Wed Oct 9, 2013
Very interesting observation ANV. I do wish that someone could explain to the mental midgets on the right that the majority of this county wants Obamacare. That was decided in March 2010, June 2012, and November 2012. Let them know that the endless votes to repeal the ACA are ludicrous. This isn't P …

US businessman: China workers are holding me hostage in my own factory
Tue Jun 25, 2013
hiap, so nice of you to defend sending US jobs to China. You should also congratulate him for avoiding paying taxes so we have less revenue to pay our standing military with and fewer paved roads. Oh, yes, he's a real patriotic guy. Let's all salute now.
When hate-mongers give you lemons, set up a lemonade stand

This Christian has never been attacked by gays so you really don't kow what you're spouting off about, Muskateer. My (mainline denomination) church made the decision in 2009 not to use its members to persecute LGBT people. We lost a lot of members then. No great loss. Actual Christians, that is, fol …
FEMA denies more aid to Texas town devastated by fertilizer plant explosion
Wed Jun 12, 2013
Sorry about your losses, cowtown, I really am. However, FEMA assistance is for natural disasters. Your disaster was manmade. You need to sue the "job creators" of the fertilizer plant to their skivvies. Their gross, criminal negligence is to blame and they (not the taxpayer) should pay.
Study: New drugs have barely improved on old standbys
Mon Jun 3, 2013
I agree, Morlack. Additionally, if you are taking a drug currently being advertised, then you are taking part in the beta testing of that drug. You are uncompensated and exposing yourself to potentially harmful (and yes, deadly) side effects. I wish I had known this before I took Advair over a decad …
Today's teens more materialistic, less likely to work hard, study says
Thu May 2, 2013
I blame Focus on the Family. The message is "Focus on MY family, and screw everyone else's family since THEY are the problem." Less judgment of others and more concern about helping others walk their walk would do us all wonders.
